About Me: Registered Provisional Psychologist Exploring the language of the body Nervous System + Attachment + Relationships Hi! I’m Kelsey Ronne and I’m a Registered Provisional Psychologist who is dedicated to helping people feel empowered in their experience of life, and to learn how to trust and integrate their innate wisdom. With the professional work aside, I am first and foremost a human who has experienced complex trauma, anxiety, and chronic health challenges. As a therapist and space-holder, I come with empathy for and understanding of what it’s like to feel stuck, in pain, and living in a cycle that can’t seem to be escaped. In the midst of my own journey, I have learned abut the importance of connection, safety and learning the language of my body, instead of trying to solve or fix what isn’t broken. It is my belief that wherever you are on your path: you make sense. My work is rooted in curiosity, compassion and exploration - my intention is to create a safe space for my clients to realize they are already growing in the right direction (because that’s life!), while feeling supported and guided in the ways that best meet their needs and challenges. I combine my experience, intuition, heart, science and evidence-based therapy/treatment methods in our time together to ensure you are seen for all the parts of you that make you, not just your symptoms. I believe that healing happens when we are met exactly where we are, in spaces where we are seen, heard and supported. You’re in the right place if you’ve been:…
What if I told you… The emotions you feel, the symptoms you experience, the relationship challenges you are navigating and the struggles you are having…all MAKE SENSE. Your journey isn’t meant to be done alone. Though counselling can appear intimidating or uncomfortable, it is always worth it. I look forward to joining you on your journey. I always recommend a phone consultation to ensure a good therapeutic fit before investing in a full session. Get in touch by booking online. EXPERIENCE Throughout her education, Kelsey worked in the non-profit mental health sector, and developed an interest in working with marginalized populations, primarily within addictions and mental health. In pursuit of this interest, Kelsey began working as an addictions counsellor for an outpatient program, where she worked with those experiencing chronic homelessness overcome their challenges with substance use. After completing her Masters, Kelsey worked at Lethbridge Family Services for 2.5 years, providing counselling services to a wider range of clientele including, but not limited to, adult individuals and couples impacted by: trauma, abuse, grief/loss, depression, anxiety, relationships, transitions, and a range of mental-health disorders. At present, Kelsey is working as a Registered Provisional Psychologist in private practice, under the Supervision of owner Nadine Duckworth, Registered Psychologist. This combination of education and work experience over the years has provided her with familiarity in a number of different areas that may align with your story and what is bringing you to counselling. Her clinical work is strongly informed by both lived experience and evidence-based research that uniquely confirms our innate ability to heal through connection. EDUCATION Kelsey obtained her Bachelor of Health Sciences in Addictions Counselling from the University of Lethbridge. She then went on to achieve her Master of Counselling Psychology at Athabasca University. As part of her graduate degree requirement, she completed a 400-hour clinical practicum as well as her Master's capstone project exploring the connection between childhood trauma/abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and incarceration, along with best practices for counselling incarcerated women who present with PTSD symptomatology.
