FIRST APPOINTMENT Billing information will be required to reserve your appointment time and will not be charged unless in the case of a No Show or Late Cancellation, or until after your session if that is your chosen payment method. If that doesn't work for you, we will discuss a different arrangement. After booking your appointment, you will receive a confirmation email with further instructions. |
BILLING AND FEES FOR SERVICES
BILLING INFORMATION DIRECT BILLING: available for several insurance companies, including but not limited to: - Alberta BlueCross, Medavie, Veterans Affairs, ASEBP/ARTA, Canada Life (previously Great West Life), Chamber of Commerce, CINUP, Desjardins, First Canadian, Green Shield (GSC), GroupSource, Industrial Alliance, Manion, etc. - Unify Consulting Group (Physicians of Alberta), Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB), and certain other EAP/EFAP or insurance companies in the case of an MVA claim or Short/Long Term Disability - Sunlife and Manulife typically do cover Psychological Services, but are not set up for direct billing For clients accessing counselling services through a third party payor, I will invoice the company directly upon their approval, and working within their treatment conditions. Clients are responsible for paying any remaining amount not covered by their insurance. PAYMENT METHODS: If not direct billing, payments are due in full at the end of each session by credit card, e-transfer, or cash. Receipts will be provided and can be submitted to your insurance company or Health Spending Account for reimbursement. Receipts for out-of-pocket payments can be submitted for income tax purposes as a medical expense. |

FEE SCHEDULE
Due to the Psychologists Association of Alberta recently (Jan 2023) updating the recommended fee schedule (recommended $220/hr), along with my advanced training in EMDR Trauma therapy, the updated fee schedule will be as follows: First appointments are 75 minutes in length In-Person Counselling - $220 Tele/Video Counselling - $200 Returning appointments are typically 60 minutes in length In-Person Counselling - $180 Tele/Video Counselling - $160 Extra time beyond the first hour - $40/15 min (recommended for couples counselling, or clients wanting extra time) FEES FOR MISSED APPOINTMENTS: Missed appointments prevent other people from the opportunity to attend therapy in a timely manner when they may be in distress or in need of support. 24 hours notice is requested for cancelling/rescheduling appointments. Late Cancellation/Rescheduling (<24 hrs) - 50% of the session fee No Show - full session fee OTHER SERVICES (necessary or client-requested time spent out of session): Reading and responding to lengthy letters/emails; Consultations and communications with outside contacts; Conducting and scoring assessments; Reporting and letter writing - $30 per 10 minutes |
